Flat band separation and robust spin Berry curvature in bilayer kagome metals

چکیده
Kagome materials have emerged as a setting for emergent electronic phenomena that encompass different aspects of symmetry and topology. It is debated whether the XV$_6$Sn$_6$ kagome family (where X rare earth element), recently discovered bilayer metals, hosts topologically non-trivial ground state resulting from opening spin-orbit coupling gaps. These states would carry finite spin-Berry curvature, topological surface states. Here, we investigate spin structure family. We obtain evidence curvature contribution at center Brillouin zone, where nearly flat band detaches dispersing Dirac because coupling. In addition, further investigated in charge density wave regime ScV$_6$Sn$_6$, it found to be robust against onset temperature-driven ordered phase. Utilizing sensitivity angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy orbital angular momentum, our work unveils helps define its spectroscopic fingerprint.

Flat-band excitonic states in Kagome lattice on semiconductor surfaces
Recent surface techniques to fabricate and arrange quantum wires on the semiconductor surface have enabled to synthesize the artificial two-dimensional lattice systems such as square and triangle lattices. For example, C. Albrecht et al. produced a square lattice by arranging InAs wires on GaInAs (001) surface and showed that a butterfly energy spectra is seen in the case of applying the magnet...

متن کاملAn antidamping spin-orbit torque originating from the Berry curvature.
Magnetization switching at the interface between ferromagnetic and paramagnetic metals, controlled by current-induced torques, could be exploited in magnetic memory technologies. Compelling questions arise regarding the role played in the switching by the spin Hall effect in the paramagnet and by the spin-orbit torque originating from the broken inversion symmetry at the interface. Of particula...
